i DM'd gosukiwi and they advised there can be no resolution for the issue as Atom has been discontinued while suggesting the AppGameKit extension for VSCode if you have Studio.

There is a AppGameKit Studio extension for VSCode, unfortunately there isn't an extension available for AppGameKit Classic. In the last update Paul said that he will be recommending that Classic is discontinued so there is unlikely to be an extension.

Find the AppGameKit installation folder and go to subfolder "Tier 2\apps" and you'll find Visual Studio 2017 solution projects in the template subfolders.

the extension was first made available with the 2022.12.12 Update for Studio (only) and was since updated.

it's found @ ...\AppGameKit Studio\VSCode.

short set-up guide found attached a couple of posts down.
