I am highly thinking about investing in the App Game Kit. That being said my verizon contract is up soon, but I have to stay with verizon. i was just wondering which phones verizon sells that is compatible with the AGK.

If verizon does not carry any i would be willing to go with a no contract pay as you go phone. I just dont want to switch providers. I have 2 other phones on the plan and dont want to switch them.

They are working on android 2.3 and higher support because its easier then the older versions of android.
Whas something about better c++ support or something?

They announced that they are going to release an beta android app player soon.

That they wanted the community to beta test it for them.

Ha you're lucky! I got a Windows Mobile 6.5 device... no one wants to support them anymore! lol

On the topic of compatible phones to test with.

iPhone is compatible, this will cover the iOS markets. You can also use the iPod Touch or iPad. I've got an iPod Touch and iPad so I test with those.

I'm planning to get a Samsung Wave 525 when I have the funds, they come under ?70 in the UK on pay as you go plans. This will cover Samsung's Bada OS.

You can test Meego on a Nokia n900 but the phone is expensive, and you have the manually install Meego to it yourself. Because no phones ship with it installed yet, I am going to wait for the Nokia N9 to turn up which I understand will be the first Meego phone. But if you want to get your games and apps ready for Nokia's release then getting an N900 to test with is the way to go I think. With brands like Intel and Nokia behind Meego, I'm sure it will find a market fairly quickly.

Bada 1.2 SDK doesn't support Wave525 devices. I have compiled my AppGameKit project and tested with my Wave II S8530 device, so I can confirm that AppGameKit works well with Bada 1.2 SDK. Does AppGameKit supports compiling with Bada 1.0 SDK?

Also AppGameKit doesn't support MeeGo handled devices like Nokia N900 or Harmattan N9 devices.

So If you want to work with AppGameKit you could buy IPhone, IPodTouch, IPad, Samsung Wave S8500, S8530, SHW-M210S or SCH-F859. In future you may have many more options.

For Meego, you're probably better off getting a cheap laptop/netbook and installing onto that.

We have only compiled against the Bada 1.2 SDK. We will be looking at 1.0 and 2.0 when Samsung approves and publishes the AppGameKit Player running 1.2. It's a long process to educate validators what the AppGameKit Player is exactly.
