I'm a little bit confused and hopefully someone can clear this up with me, I keep seeing this "Player" does that mean that to play the games on the iphone that the user will have to download a player?
Also with tier 1, is it possible to publish apps yourself or is it a must to publish with tgc?
Please and thank you

As I understand it the player is not required.
tier 1 = you can publish via tgc
tier 2 = you can use AppGameKit (sdk) and build app on your pc and sell directly to market.

Tier 1 - You can compile and publish your own apps.
Tier 2 - You can compile and publish your own apps.
The Player is only for you to use as a developer for testing, and has nothing to do with how the user will play your game.

In various threads around this forum, on the Facebook page, and in emails from Lee and Rick.
The quote from one of them went something like, "You can compile your games in either Tier, and do what you like with them.".

Even the documentation mentions this under the guides.
