Are there any books I can pick up to get a head start on learning the BASIC scripting language that are recommended? I used Visual Basic way back in the day, but it has been awhile since I have done any programming. I am very excited about making apps and games with the AppGameKit though so I would like to get my feet wet asap.

Probably best to just pick up DBPro and do some work in that, follow some tutorials. AppGameKit won't be too far removed from DBPro.
