Hi all,

Why would it happen that, whenever I load a .3ds using LOAD OBJECT, the program freezes and only a black screen appears? The same object loads fine as a .x object.

The .3ds code is bugged, and although I don't know enough about this to really know what I'm talking about, the original Dark Basic's 3ds loader was better by parsecs.

3ds is no longer reliable in the dbp engine, try and use x. I wish they'd fix the support or there was a good reliable stand-alone converter because I really prefer to model in 3dsmax, but I have an older version (r3.1) and it doesnt natively export x, and the converters dont seem to work properly. Maybe I should just write a conversion tool already :/

Oh. And here I thought it was a problem with my objects.

You get a black screen and a pause because the .3ds file is being converted into a .dbo files.

If you don't want this pre convert the file by loading it in .3ds then save the object (it will use .dbo to save)

Then in future you can load .dbo files with no long conversion issues.
