Hey,
For Pirates of Port Royale's World Editor I have been using the "set object ambient" command to turn off all object ambients, because they appear too dark if you don't. So to distinguish the selected object from other object, I set it's ambient to 1, making it slightly darker. Now I've run into a problem, because I have an object that actually looks better with it's ambient set to 1, so there's no way to make it appear selected. I've tried using "set object diffuse", "set object emissive", and "set object ambience", but none work if ambient isn't set to 1. So I'm wondering if there is a native DBP command, or some other simple method to slightly alter the appearance of an object so you can tell which object you have selected. Anyone have any ideas?

I use ghost object in my editor, it works pretty well. Also maybe you could use set object alpha mapping and set it to like 80% if ghost is too much of a change?

Cool, set alpha mapping on should work fine, thanks .

Or you could use FADE OBJECT if you don't want transparency.
Less than 100 = Darker
More than 100 = Brighter

Ahh, that's more what I wanted Scraggle, thanks .

You could Set Object Diffuse as well to tint it a different color.

Oh, my bad, you're right, though I did think of that issue as I posted.
