I have tried to open DBP twice, but every time it does that it just closes and brings focus to the one that is already open. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing you've updated the IDE, because this is what happens when you update it. I can't think or a way around it though, either uninstall DBP and install it again or use something like CodeSurge to replace it.

There is an unofficial patch from the creator of the original IDE that fixed this problem along with a few other problems too. The patch is attached to this post. Just extract the zip file and copy the files in it and paste them in the Editor folder where DarkBasic Proffesional is installed.

You REALY need to get the CodeSurge IDE from the top of the WIP page. The standard IDE is realy bad for multitasking and has been know to eat peoples files! You have been warned!

If you open up the editor by opening one from the Editor folder (editor.exe) and one from root folder (Launch.exe) then it will work.

You can try Synergy Editor which allows multiple instances to be open (link in signature)
