I have recently learned that some stuff when db is compiled is getting extracted to the c:\~temp folder.

This folder is usually the trash-pit of stuff on most computers. I have decided to clean out that folder and apparently deleted something there that now doesn't allow db code to compile. It gives me a whatever is not a valid windows file, blah blah.

so, now none of my stuff can compile.

how can I fix this problem.

is there a possible way to direct the "temp db stuff" files to another folder (possibly within the db installation dir).

I really do not wish important dark basic stuff getting mixed in with all the trash that ends up in the temp folder.

I don't think DB Pro uses that folder. It uses your Windows temp folder for extracting media when a program is run, and it uses DB Pro's own temp folder for things when it compiles (especially if you haven't told it where to compile your EXE to).
Emptying the c:\temp folder should not affect DB Pro unless you originally installed it there AFAIK.

I confused the "temp internet files" folder and the "temp" folder (they are right next to each other).

I emptied the temp folder

and now it has trouble compiling stuff.

how can i fix it?

and is there a way to make DBP compile into a different folder?

i did

the strange thing is, this only happens on a copy od DB that i installed on my pc

the copy on my laptop compiles just fine even when i clean out that folder.

yet again, thats a different version
