Is there any deadlines for the release of DarkBasic Pro X10?

From what I recall, sometime in April. But I don't officially know. Hopefully soon I say.

Is this Duke Nukem Forever or Something?

I'm in no rush at all. People hardly have DX9.0C.

The only reason why I am wondering is because as soon as darkbasic upgrades to DirectX 10 I plan to upgrade as well and that means it will be time to buy windows vista.

It's a shame that many of us won't be able to run your program when it's finished.

Perhaps in the future.

in the FAAAAAR future... as far as I am concerned... If I could get my hands on the N64 SDK I would be writing games for it.

Hmm.. I'll be running Vista Ultimate next week, So it would be great to have DB X10 within a few months

I wonder what it will be called?

Dark Basic - DX8
Dark Basic Pro - DX9
Dark Basic Elite - DX10

I think it needs a new name if it's not backward compatible

If i make a game is DX10 only a few people can play it.
If i make a game in DX9 almost everyone can play it.

I think I'm on the same side as the games industry, stick with DX9

Dark Basic was DX7.

Supported DX Retained Mode, not Skin and Bones.

@Mage
Dark Basic was DirectX 8.1. I have proof, just look at the main dbc page.

@Everyone
Right now the majority of people have dx9, why not just get dbpx10 and wait for dx11 <If dx11 ever exists>

Why would anyone who doesn't own Vista buy a product that's incompatible on purpose?

To prepare for the future. <And I never said that if you don't have the requirements, get it>

DBC started in DX7

Thank you! DBC DX7.

I thinks its nice to be making games for DirectX 9 so that everyone can play them. However upgrading to DirectX 10 will allow for better games such as the graphics and quality.

Yeah, DBC was DX7, and DB Pro was born in DX 8.1

I dunno about all this Db X10 hype... There have been so few games made in DB Pro under DX9 that even begin to push the hardware graphically that a DX 10 release seems to be pointless. It's not a software problem, it just a lack of great coders/artists with time on their side. There are plenty of good coders/artists, just none with oodles of time to make something shaweet.
